How to Use Aromatherapy Essential Oils

Aromatherapy is a type of Energy Healing, it is the holistic use of essential oils to heal, balance and harmonize the body on all levels, body, mind and soul. Essential oils are the volatile substance that a plant owes its odour or flavour to, it is often referred to as the soul or hormones of the plant.
As with all Energy Healing modalities the goal is to increase and balance the body's energetic vibrational frequency to promote health and well-being of the body, mind, and soul. Everything with an atomic structure vibrates at a specific frequency as a result of the electrons and protons of atoms constantly moving. The healthy human body has a vibrational frequency between 62 and 68 (megahertz) MHz.
Aromatherapy is a holistic healing treatment using the natural plant extracts called essential oils. Studies have found essential oils with a megahertz (MHz) frequency under 78MHz balance the physical body, use Basil – 52 MHz for digestion and Peppermint 78MHz for headaches. Essential oils with higher megahertz (MHz) work on the emotional and spiritual bodies, use Lavender 118MHz for stress or anxiety and Frankincense 147 MHz for meditation.
Aromatherapy works through the sense of smell and skin absorption. For medicinal purposes always use pure essential oils, a small amount is all that is needed. Use essential oils in a carrier oil when applying to the skin.
How to use essential oils
- Diffusion – essential oils are diffused in water as a mist. Electronic diffusers are available or you can put the oil in water in a spray bottle.
- Inhalation – smell the essential oil directly out of the bottle, or use electric or candle oil burners. The oil can also be put on a cotton wool ball or tissue and carried or placed where needed.
- Topically – To use essential oils on the skin, put in a carrier oil first before applying. Use 5 -15 drops per 30ml carrier oil. Premade blends can be bought.
Carrier oils
The quality of the carrier oil is very important as it is the medium to carry the essential oil into the skin for absorption. Carrier oils are cold pressed and made from nuts, seeds and vegetables. Do not use mineral oils as they are not absorbed into the skin.
